It was a ceremony we have watched many times on the television channels. The oath taking ceremonies for the presidents and prime ministers is a passé.
Kremlin’s ceremony where Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin gave way for young Dmitrey Medvedev as the next Russian President was no different but a mere formality and the world community already knew the outcome.Putin Looked worn down and his wife looked like she has been separated from Putin in reality! However rumours have their own place!
Putin has been assigned the post of prime minister and has not lost any power after relinquishing his post as a president. Critics from within and from the west specially united states have been blowing their trumpets about this for a while! However these Critics are either criminals or have no understanding about the culture and sensibilities of Russian People. The same critics have been insensitive when criticizing and blaming India and China for rising global food prices!
In case of Russia we have to understand the period of chaos which was created by western allies from 1990-2000.Russian resources like Oil and natural gas was being sold openly by mafia like Oligarchs which were remote controlled by Washington.Corruption was at its height and in spite of national assets like oil and gas,Russia became indebted to the World Bank (controlled by Washington) to the tune of US$50 billion.Russia became bankrupt with thriving Mafia and a drunkard President Yeltsin.Companies like Yuk oil who were controlled by Jewish mafia headed by Mixail Khordakovsky became the first ever Billionaire with assets over US 20 Billion.
General public in Russia was in great pain without any salaries and jobs.World war veterans came on the streets selling their Gallantry medals and sometimes their entire belongings in order to feed themselves and their families.Educated Russians started looking for jobs as night watchmen and cleaners.A former Russian ambassador to Denmark was found living in the garbage collection point trying to collect empty bottles for few pennies.Meanwhile the west preached democracy and praised the Oligarchs for embracing democracy. The Mafia and their women had no qualms spending millions of dollars on global luxury brands.Taking inspirations from them the young people preferred to become local goons and girls started looking at prostitution as a career.Police became corrupt and funding for educational institutions dried up.It was a period of great trauma for the very proud Russian people who had gone through a World War loosing more than 10 million soldiers.
In 2001 when Putin became powerful and reversed the system by ousting the mafia leaders and killing them one by one.West cried foul and trumpeted about Human rights.Britain even gave refuge to many of these fleeing Mafia dons thus exposing itself. However Putin changed the country and renationalized the assets like oil and gas bringing great gains for the country.Educational institutions started getting the funding and pensioners were overjoyed when their pensions were upped by almost 100%.It was clear That Putin’s Russian had taken a new path to prosperity and order and cared little for the United states and Britain.Russia under Putin even went on to pay up its debts to World bank and still have surplus 300 billion US$.
Today Russia is a rich country but many ills still ails Russia like corruption which will take some time to diminish.China learned from Russia and kept their grip tight on administration and taught the world that countries can prosper with a good mix of socialism and entrepreneurship.Unfortunately capitalism has become a dirty word which is seen as invasion of Iraq and bush-ism.
It is very important that Russia must follow the path shown to them by Putin and the team,if they have to sustain growth and happiness of their people.President Medvedev was and still is a part of great Putin team and with Putin as a prime minister to supervise that anglo saxon culprits don’t interfere again. It is clear that Russia is in good hands! We in India must learn from all this!
